1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Android app Tao Te Ching (English & Hindi), published on Google Play by Dipak Chauhan ("the developer", "I"). It explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
2. Information I collect
I do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos or any other personal details. The app has no sign-up and no login. I do not run a server that stores information about users.
3. Information stored only on your phone
To make the app work, it saves these settings on your phone: language, theme, text size, favourite chapters, reading progress, daily practice progress, notification time and settings, and the time until audio is unlocked. This information stays on your phone and is not sent to me. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app offers an optional rewarded ad. You choose to watch one short ad to unlock audio for 24 hours. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. When an ad is requested or shown, Google may collect and use information such as your advertising ID, IP address, device and operating system details, and how you interact with the ad. This information is collected by Google and handled under Google's own policies. I do not receive your personal data from Google. I only see summarised ad performance reports.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or turn off ad personalisation, in your phone's Settings under Google, then Ads. To learn more, see How Google uses data in advertising and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
5. Notifications
The daily chapter notification is created on your phone. No information is sent anywhere for this. You can turn it off in the app's Settings or in your phone's notification settings.
6. Audio
Listening uses your phone's own text-to-speech voice. The app does not record your voice and does not use the microphone.
7. Sharing and external links
When you share a chapter as a picture card, Android's share sheet opens and you decide where it goes. The optional support links open PayPal or a UPI app outside this app. Payments are handled entirely by PayPal or your UPI app, and I do not see or store your payment details. The contact link opens your email app.
8. Permissions the app uses
- Internet and network state: to load ads.
- Notifications and start-up after restart: to show the daily chapter notification on time.
- Advertising ID: used by the Google ads library for the ad you choose to watch.
9. Data security
Information that stays on your phone is kept in the app's private storage. I do not transmit personal data from your phone to myself or to any server I control. Ad requests are handled by Google.
10. Data retention and deletion
I do not hold any personal data about you, so there is nothing for me to delete. To remove everything the app stored on your phone, clear the app's storage in your phone's Settings (Apps, Tao Te Ching, Storage, Clear data) or uninstall the app. For information held by Google for ads, you can use the controls described in section 4. 11. Children
The app is meant for people aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. I do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I will update this page and the date above.

1. इस नीति के बारे में
यह गोपनीयता नीति Android ऐप ताओ ते चिंग (हिंदी और English) पर लागू होती है, जिसे Google Play पर दीपक चौहान ("डेवलपर", "मैं") ने प्रकाशित किया है। यह बताती है कि ऐप कौन सी जानकारी संभालता है और कैसे।
2. मैं कौन सी जानकारी इकट्ठा करता हूँ
मैं आपका नाम, ईमेल पता, फ़ोन नंबर, लोकेशन, संपर्क, फ़ोटो या कोई और निजी जानकारी इकट्ठा नहीं करता। ऐप में साइन-अप या लॉगिन नहीं है। मेरे पास ऐसा कोई सर्वर नहीं है जो उपयोगकर्ताओं की जानकारी रखता हो।
3. जो जानकारी सिर्फ़ आपके फ़ोन में रहती है
ऐप को चलाने के लिए ये सेटिंग्स आपके फ़ोन में सेव होती हैं: भाषा, थीम, अक्षर का आकार, पसंदीदा सूत्र, पढ़ाई कहाँ तक हुई, रोज़ के अभ्यास की प्रगति, सूचना का समय और सेटिंग्स, और ऑडियो कब तक खुला है। यह जानकारी आपके फ़ोन में ही रहती है और मुझे नहीं भेजी जाती। ऐप अनइंस्टॉल करने पर यह मिट जाती है।
4. विज्ञापन (Google AdMob)
ऐप में एक वैकल्पिक रिवॉर्डेड विज्ञापन है। आप अपनी मर्ज़ी से एक छोटा विज्ञापन देखकर 24 घंटे के लिए ऑडियो खोल सकते हैं। विज्ञापन Google AdMob देता है। विज्ञापन माँगे या दिखाए जाने पर Google आपका विज्ञापन आईडी, IP पता, डिवाइस और ऑपरेटिंग सिस्टम की जानकारी, और विज्ञापन के साथ आपकी बातचीत जैसी जानकारी इकट्ठा और इस्तेमाल कर सकता है। यह जानकारी Google इकट्ठा करता है और Google की अपनी नीतियों के अनुसार संभालता है। Google से आपकी निजी जानकारी मुझ तक नहीं पहुँचती। मैं सिर्फ़ विज्ञापन के प्रदर्शन की सारांश रिपोर्ट देखता हूँ।

5. सूचनाएँ (Notifications)
रोज़ के सूत्र की सूचना आपके फ़ोन में ही बनती है। इसके लिए कोई जानकारी कहीं नहीं भेजी जाती। आप इसे ऐप की सेटिंग्स या फ़ोन की सूचना सेटिंग्स में बंद कर सकते हैं।
6. ऑडियो
सुनने के लिए आपके फ़ोन की अपनी टेक्स्ट-टू-स्पीच आवाज़ इस्तेमाल होती है। ऐप आपकी आवाज़ रिकॉर्ड नहीं करता और माइक्रोफ़ोन का इस्तेमाल नहीं करता।
7. शेयर करना और बाहरी लिंक
जब आप किसी सूत्र को तस्वीर वाले कार्ड की तरह शेयर करते हैं, तो Android की शेयर शीट खुलती है और आप तय करते हैं कि वह कहाँ जाए। वैकल्पिक सहयोग के लिंक ऐप के बाहर PayPal या UPI ऐप खोलते हैं। भुगतान पूरी तरह PayPal या आपके UPI ऐप से होता है, और मैं आपकी भुगतान की जानकारी न देखता हूँ, न सेव करता हूँ। संपर्क वाला लिंक आपका ईमेल ऐप खोलता है।
8. ऐप कौन सी अनुमतियाँ (Permissions) इस्तेमाल करता है
- इंटरनेट और नेटवर्क की स्थिति: विज्ञापन लोड करने के लिए।
- सूचनाएँ और रीस्टार्ट के बाद चालू होना: रोज़ के सूत्र की सूचना सही समय पर दिखाने के लिए।
- विज्ञापन आईडी (Advertising ID): आपके चुने हुए विज्ञापन के लिए Google की विज्ञापन लाइब्रेरी इसे इस्तेमाल करती है।
9. डेटा की सुरक्षा
जो जानकारी आपके फ़ोन में रहती है, वह ऐप के निजी स्टोरेज में रखी जाती है। मैं आपके फ़ोन से कोई निजी डेटा अपने पास या किसी सर्वर पर नहीं भेजता। विज्ञापन के अनुरोध Google संभालता है।
10. डेटा कितने समय रखा जाता है और उसे कैसे हटाएँ
मेरे पास आपकी कोई निजी जानकारी नहीं है, इसलिए मुझे कुछ हटाने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। ऐप ने आपके फ़ोन में जो कुछ रखा है उसे हटाने के लिए फ़ोन की सेटिंग्स में ऐप का स्टोरेज साफ़ करें (Apps, Tao Te Ching, Storage, Clear data) या ऐप अनइंस्टॉल कर दें। Google के पास विज्ञापनों के लिए जो जानकारी रहती है, उसके लिए भाग 4 में बताए नियंत्रण इस्तेमाल करें। कोई सवाल हो तो मुझे dkc0035@gmail.com पर ईमेल करें।
11. बच्चे
ऐप 18 वर्ष और उससे ऊपर के लोगों के लिए है और बच्चों के लिए नहीं बना है। मैं जानबूझकर बच्चों की जानकारी इकट्ठा नहीं करता।
12. इस नीति में बदलाव
इस नीति में बदलाव होने पर मैं इस पेज और ऊपर की तारीख को अपडेट करूँगा।
